What is Really Our Heart’s Desire?

The “Old Man” aka the father was probably raised to keep his feelings in his pocket because he didn’t need them so that when he grew up, he decided to only allow his angry feelings to come out. Once in awhile you see the sweet side of him, like making the most of the ruined dinner by taking his family to the Chinese restaurant and then on Christmas morning giving his firstborn the gift that he most wanted.

It IS a Wonderful Life!

In It’s a Wonderful Life, there are things that are out of George’s control but because he felt such responsibility for anything that went wrong, he put a very heavy burden on his shoulders which put him in a state of feeling out of control and his mind racing only causing more anxiety for himself. The more anxiety, the more breathing fast and heart rate speeds up, and then he becomes lightheaded, not being able to think straight anymore so he takes his frustration out on those he loves the most. He was then in a hopeless state of mind thinking everyone would be better off without him, that if he had never been born, none of this would’ve happened.

GRINDING HALT

My point is, all this stuff that comes unexpectedly in your life may not be wanted; however, it is all used to make us stronger, to help us grow into what God would have us to be. So, we need to embrace the unpleasantness and learn from it. Do what you can do where God puts you. Get brave, step out of your comfort zone. He has a great plan and purpose for you for this season.

a FIVE GALLON Bucketful of Patience

I believe that we all can learn to wait, to slow down, to learn from the circumstances and the people around us. Many things in life don’t go our way or how we had planned, but if we pause to lean in and learn what God would have us to, we will gain even more patience than we thought we ever had, and realize He had the best plan all along than we could have ever imagined. Sometimes we just got to go through the muddy, sticky, hard, Murphy Monday, five gallon bucketful kind of day. Because in the end, we can look back and see it was all for a purpose to make us who we are today. And, thankfully God is with us through it.

You Have No Idea What You Have Just Unleashed

I am pretty confident God took him immediately so he did not taste the sting of death. The tears came at the horrific scene. Part of my and my daughter’s daily routine bonding time, of watching Charlie had just ended right before my eyes.

Putting Yourself in Another’s Shoes

God continued to provide. My husband was doing night calls for I don’t know how many years just to make ends meet. Looking back, I don’t think I thought he was stressed because he never showed it. He was an amazing daddy who loved on his children when he got home instead of doing what the average guy did (watching tv or doing whatever without their family when they got home) I was blessed to have a guy who would help me when he got home, read to the children, and tuck them in. We had a very simple life but I loved it and I even had a neighbor tell me once he loved seeing us all out in the backyard running around and playing together the way families and children use to. He encouraged us to keep doing that.

Does God Answer Prayer through Superstition?

January 29, 2023 Below are some real life examples of what people have believed and possibly followed through on: A guy who broke down in front of Philippians embassy thought it must be a sign to be a missionary there. A gal knew if she went to Israel she’d be riding a 747, she woke…… Continue reading Does God Answer Prayer through Superstition?

Journey of a Prodigal

January 21, 2023 We are all prodigals, on our own path of the journey to know God. We have all strayed and walked away from God at one time or another, thinking we know best but all we do is get ourselves into things that are hard to get out of without the help of…… Continue reading Journey of a Prodigal

Life can Change in a Moment

January 3, 2023 I am not one to follow football, but over the years, my husband and youngest girlie love to spend time watching Football together. My husband’s favorite team is the Cowboys, since he was a child where he attended church with some of the Redskins. So, of course, my girlie’s favorite team is…… Continue reading Life can Change in a Moment
